All I can say to this point is this combo is SA_WEET!!!!
Unfortunately, I had to put one of my 8800gtx's in storage for awhile.
I tried the EVGA 680i/P31 bios combo but it didn't work well at all.
Hopefully, the new 780i/790/i offerings will support 45nm and allow me to back to SLI.
But for now, this combination is awesome...
I've had the system up and running for only one day now, so there's alot more tinkering to do. But this aint bad for a first pass:
4.02 ghz @ 1.38 vcore, (400 x10). temps are nice and low.
This chip hates x8, likes x9 up to 3.6 ghz, and LOVES x10 for 4.0 ghz and above. I say above because I've been able to boot into windows @4.55 with ~1.48 vcore, but that was a shot in the dark. I'l probably be able to back off on the voltage with some experimentation.
Right now I'm looking for something stable for 24/7 use and 4.02 aint too shabby.. (of course it shouldn't be for $1150.00).
More to come. Good luck AMD
Another note, the 12mb of L2 really shows up in pi calcs.
