So I've been trying mini-stress tests of 10 minutes using OCCT since it seems to cause errors faster than Orthos. Things seem to be stable after 10 minutes so I'll run it through Orthos tonight for 6 hours and see how things go but my question is about temperatures.
Here's my situation:
Core temp shows my Tjunction max as 85 degrees but only ever reads my core temperature as 28 degrees at idle with the chip overclocked. HWMonitor and OCCT itself read it as 43 degrees.
On intel.com this processor shows a max temperature of 71.3, 15 degrees less that my Tjunction max. Also the difference between my idle temperatures according to the above applications is 15 degrees.
So does this mean that temperature shown on intel.com is the temperature at the exact center of the IHS of the CPU, which is the value that Core Temp is reading and is the maximum temperature of the cores itself 85 degrees as HWMonitor and OCCT are reading?
I have have admit that this post is confusing me a little bit so here's a screen shot. What temperature should I really be worried about?
