Mild update for today. I measured where I could fit a window and sketched out a grid and got the window design drawn out. Took me a few tries but I think I have it satisfactory.


Here was the first draft. I just outlined the rough area of the largest I could make the window and still allow room for acrylic excess (so I can tape it from the back) and have clearance on the frame. Then the grid helped me keep the fan areas symmetrical, I'm OCD like that,lol. (I used a cd to make the 120mm fan circles, for anyone wondering. )


A little (careful) exacto knife work and I had it cut out. At this point I realized where I had put the fans ended up being a little larger than I could allow.


Repeating same process as above I drew out another grid. This time I took 2" out of the middle. This is closer to the rough sketch I had drew earlier.


A little smaller than I had wanted, but I had to account for the excess I had to have on the acrylic and move around the inner lip on the case frame so this is a much more accurate fit. I really don't want fitment issues later after I've already but the side and mounted acrylic,lol.


I just have it taped up there for now. I'm going to leave it in my room and see how it soaks in with me. I might move it around some before I cut it. I'm very happy though, it came out very well (better than I had thought,LOL)
