Alright! Update time. Figured today was a good day to get dirty.

So here is the cage that is to be sanded and the HDD cage that will be the test victim.

The bottom of the inside of the cage after probably a half hour of sanding everything with 100grit.

Kinda got tired of sanding so I set up the HDD cage for primer.

Was the only primer they had, so I figured it would be fine for the inside as it's going to be black anyways.

At least I can see that I got everywhere equally!

Not overly impressed with the can. It spilled EVERYWHERE.

While I waited for that to dry I figured it would be a good time to prep the bondo. Here are the lines I'm going to fill. These were the 3.5" Bays.

Don't need much.. Though I soon found out even this was way too much.

Overkill. Wanted to make sure that I got it all concealed. Probably shouldn't have tried to do it all in one shot. A lot of sanding occurred after this..

..And I got tired of sanding again. Threw on the flat black and was impressed with the looks. Just how I wanted!

For the record, I'm not a ****ty spraypainter, the primer really is a POS can.

A good while into the sanding. Can't see it so well as the sun was going behind the trees, but there were lots of bumps and bubbles to be corrected.

It was pretty awful, no doubt. Note the scar from the surgery on my right leg.

And here is the finished bondo job. I have to check just how good it is later with some paint, but it felt smooth as hell. That and the sun was going down. Oh, and my hunger was going up.
So I left it at that, didn't take a photo of the HDD cage after the 3 more coats of black as it really didn't look much different anyways. Tomorrow I'm making a trip to pick up 2 more gigs of ram. Will be sanding down the side panels and top tomorrow as well. No more painting till I cut the small hole in the cage and the front panel though. Still gotta sort out what colors I want for the outside. My father brought up a good point in saying that I should do something original as everyone has a black case these days.. Hmm..
