Sorry guys, I forgot my camera today and when I realized it, I was well away from home. Nothing too special in the process though
As demanded, MOAR PICS!

So I cut the hole in the front plastic. It's only about 75mm in diameter right now. Notice anything different? Yeah, I cracked the bondo on the 3.5 trays when drilling the holes.. There were clips that held the covers in that protruded a bit in the back, and when I laid down the piece and drilled it I put too much pressure and popped the covers forward. Oh well, more fun for tomorrow.

Didn't really have a 3 inch hole saw blade and I wasn't gonna drop $20 on one so I improvised. Had to cut it with a precision hacksaw. Not bad for roundness eh? Tomorrow I will give it a good sand-down and I'll show you the extent of my improvision skills.

Cut out the back panel as well. In case you don't remember, that hole to the right of the motherboard panel wasn't a hole before. Still need to de-burr it and clean up the edges with a file tomorrow though.

And the hole in the front of the cage! The fan will sit inside the cage. It's a rough one that I cut with the same grinder I used for the window, so I'll get at it with the rounded bastard file real good tomorrow as well.

With the tube in, you can see where the metal needs to be ground down.

Another shot, same idea.

So I was wondering what the best way to go about the tube from the faceplate to the metal cage was, and when I figuresd that 80mm is roughly 3inches I thought to check out the plumbing department. Sure enough I found a fitting that would work perfect. it was a little big so I had to make some adjustments at the back, but it's all good. I'll need to bondo it to the faceplate though as the faceplate is rounded and there is a visible gap.
That's all for tonight folks. Tomorrow will be time for meticulous sanding and filing. More bondo work too. I'll be sure to not forget the camera
