Alright, a bit more of today..

Time to get the dvd/cd drive black.

Was trying to take apart just the shell, but that didn't work as the spinny thing was attached to the top.

So time to break out the tape.

And the knife..

The back panel, very clean.

And the front plastic piece covered.

Forgot my camera for a bit, but here is the first layer of black

Also painted the I/O panel.

I've begun work in the garage as it's too cold out in the wind now. It's a simple garage, but you should see it when snowboarding season hits. This thing turns into my holy grail of a workshop.

Those two cuts I had planned out earlier for cable management.

The final layer of black

Good ol' dremel thing.
Anyways, I've come to the conclusion that even though the sanding jobs and the priming have been beyond sufficient, the flat black paint is easily scuffed and requires a clearcoat especially in high traffic areas. Can anyone recommend one that will protect but will not turn my flat black into a gloss black? I adore the effect of flat black, but it really does need another layer of protection.
