I went the chicken noodle soup route at around 2pm and haven't sniffled since 4! It really was bad for a bit though.
Onto more productive matters..

I convinced myself I had made all the cuts I would ever possibly need and decided to paint. So I strung it up in a manner that any excessive paint would go towards the front of the case, and put it upside down so that the one place I see the most of - the bottom - got the run-less spray (I tend to overspray the first coat often, you won't see a 'how-to paint' guide form me any time soon) and got cracking.

One last shot of the cleaned metal. Windex is a god.

2 coats of primer

And sure enough halfway through the second coat it got windy and started to rain..

Took a break and made myself some chicken noodle soup, as recommended by our very own housewife, repo!

First layer of flat black

4 layers total of flat black (4 on the sections with the most traffic/most visual, 2 layers on places that were out of sight and had no-traffic.)
And that concludes the cage painting. I need to venture out and find a matte clear coat sometime and spray
everything ASAP, but with cold rainy weather the next few days, I don't think I'm in much of a hurry.
