Day 24

WOOOO!!! what a day!! i rewired and resleeved around 50% if not more of my wires. i also changed the layout of how i wired everything. that means i made alot of the connections from scratch.

here is my new switch layout. threw out the older ones this time i'm using quick disconnects directly onto the switch instead of soldering it on. makes life easier.

here is the right side live wire for the UV leds that will be going in sometime later.

that little connector at the bottom is a 3pin fan connector that has 3 wires in parallel for my rad fans. this is also disconnectable. again got to make my life easier.

these are the rad fan wires that i was talking about.

ah... now these... these are regular molex connectors.. kind of.. my DA750 has two connections for molexes... i made one for the switches and one that needs to always be on.

the top one is for the lights that will be going in later as i'm pooped from doing all the wires from the beginning. the longer wire is the live wire going to the switch. the shorter two are grounds.

the bottom molex connectors are for the fan controller and pumps.

here is a quick look at a progress shot of taking it all apart.

the end product! i was going to re do my sata cables too... but i'm too tired to finish that up today, so that will look alot cleaner in the next update.

i did some modifications to my pumps too.. before i was using the foamy things that came with the pump but it was getting smushed way too much and became pointless to keep them. so replaced them with 2 rubber washers on each screw.

notice the raised height now.

did the same for the DDC3.2

before, i had the screw sticking down into the bottom compartment and would get in the way of the PSU. now i have them sticking up into the top so that isn't a problem anymore. to screw it down, i switched over to thumb nuts. makes it simple to take apart if i ever need to.

well if you recall, i used a terminal board before. i learned the hard way that its really hard to service so i got rid of it and turned whatever connections the terminal board had into molex connectors. yea, it sounds disgusting since when we hear molex connectors, we think of that huge string of molex connectors... but since mine are made myself to however i like it, it actually works out much better.

this is how the back looks like now.its alot cleaner than before.. i can't believe, i can't find a picture of the back of it before. i thougtht i had atleast uploaded one but i guess i don't.

the connection to the switches.

the grounds for the LEDs.

the connections for the pumps.

a quick side by side comparison..

I know you can't see a difference because of the stupid sata cables, the objective was to make it easy to service. and all i can say is, i HATE wiring..

OH, i also dropped another 3C. how? well apparently my intake fan wasn't connected properly. So since i was rewiring a bunch of crap anyway, i did my little male 3pin connector mod to it and now its working perfectly. so it dropped 3C YAYUH!

edit:

i have another update, i would do this as another day as i did start after 12am.. but its on the same subject and technically, i haven't fallen asleep yet so for me its the same day.

here is the back again but now you see less yellow, now i wonder why that is.

i got rid of the yellow as i started to feel that it just didn't fit with what i had going. so i went with a black and orange. yea yea, halloween has already passed but my board is pretty much black and orange anyhow. so work greats for me! i also changed the pcie connector to blue instead of red. gives it a nice contrast, imo.

oh yes, i also changed it to sleeving every 2 wires instead of every wire. looks cleaner now.

i also redid the 8pin espv(whatever it is) wire with all black and a blue connector.

now here is the big one, i redid the sata connectors, no more bulges. i liked them at first but then i started to really hate them. haha, trial and error. before you couldn't tell, but i also rerouted the sata cables. the color, is also black/orange/black but the orange is kind of hidden by the two black cables atm.

here is the overall, it looks alot better than before huh? well i think so anyway. tell me what you think. OH, there is one more stupid wire to get rid of. can you take a guess?

yeap! its the 24pin atx connector and wires! going to resleeve those also. not sure of the layout of colors just yet. but it'll get done sometime this week.

another side by side comparison but this time of the back.
