Thanks naf! I really like it. I think its going to really shine with the other Xiggy's and the orange tubing.
Well, I got the PSU the case tonight. That was far more work than I would have thought. I knew the new bolts were going to give me some clearance issues, but it proved to be quite a chore to squeeze that bugger in there. After a metric ton of filing, test fitting, failing, filing some more, test fitting, failing, etc. etc... I
finally got it in there.
First, I fashioned the final trim panel for the underside of the pump tray:
Then I expanded the ventilation for the PSU fan:
Made some notches and filed a bit to allow for the modified PSU to slide into place:
This is the shot from earlier, of the modified PSU outside the case:
Here's a shot from the rear with the new M4 mounting hardware:
Th underneath angle has a nice bit of brushed aluminum showing now, instead of a random bit of fan hole and the mismatched factory smoked nickel finish of the Ultra. (I still need to tap out those M3's showing to take M4 hardware):
And from inside, with a shot of the business end of the final interior trim piece for the pump tray cover:
It seems like I'm robbing a lot of the fans airflow, but I figure that's about 60% of it free air, and that has to be a significantly higher amount of open area than the roughly twelve 3/4" holes that it had previously.
In other (good) news: Fed Ex seems to have re-located my Danger Den order, so that's back on the schedule for delivery tomorrow. Tubing and fittings are incoming.
In other (bad) news: I'm working for pretty much the next 48 hours straight.
Gotta love them government jobs.
