Greenie-poo - Day 20 - mount case feet, prep feet led wiring

ok, so the led feet kit came mostly sleeved, and had a spst+pci bracket thing that needed to go. I clipped off the switch and saved the bracket and switch for future endeavors

prepped the underside of the bottom panel by removing the paper in the corners, then I used a little Welder glue/adhesive (not ips weld type) on the flat inner part of each foot, and used a stir stick to smooth it around. I tried to put just enough so there would be no gushing, but would have full contact and a good seal

somehow I got each one right, each time, without any gush but seated firmly as possible

set the bottom panel aside for the night to dry, and busted out the ol' shrink and sleeve to do some final sleeving for the feet led wiring. As you can see most of it was sleeved during ordering, but they left the wiring that goes to the switch bare. After I did some length tests, and trimmed a bit off I began sleeving.

thats the "intersection side done

on the other end I used female spade connectors which will mount onto the dpst toggle I am using for the feet leds and the ccfl lamps. I put some narrow sleeve on each wire, to cover them to the hilt of the spade connectors

did a wonder clean crimp job until I realized... whats wrong with this picture??
I forgot to slip the outter shrink on before attaching the spade connectors!!! Damn.
but wait...

got a section of the next size bigger and cut a piece. It fit over one spade at a time, and since I had some slack I was able to get both thru individually (good thing because I had no extra spades laying around)

ended up win imho

well thats the final feet led assembly. I will probably clip off the molex pass thru but I will wait to see if it comes in useful for either the top/back fans, or possibly the power to the ccfls. the 5v feed can either be tied and tucked, or shortened, we'll see. The two short led's will fit perfectly around the psu to the back feet, and the longer ones will go to the fronts. I have space under the hdd to coil and hide the excess, since they are a bit long. I think I tend to find/create cable management in all the weirdest places

tomorrow its inner de-papering, cleaning, and case + parts assembly
friday (starting around 12:30pm) its any last tweaks/fixes, pray no dead parts, POST's, OS, button up, outter de-paper, clean, pics and video
saturday: give to Jess in the afternoon

hope I make it without any set backs

cheers and thanks for watching
