$110 from, you guessed it, Lowes. It doesn't get the best reviews on their website, but oh well, what can you expect for a benny and some change?

Got my slots cut tonight in piece 1020 (B) since I was able to use the Mill at work. It looks like a turd, but it's a Bridgeport, and if you know mills, I don't need to say more. My old man got me a brand new set of 4 flute end mills for my project. (If there is machining involved, he is into it) Everything went smoothly (thanks WD40) except maybe the belt change for the speed adjustment. (That part IS getting worn out, luckily it's due for an overhaul and paint job this year. You should see the one they keep locked up! ). I polished the mill finish afterward so I could forgo the grommets. It's buttery smooth.

Ain't she purty? 1/2 inch 4 flute. Mint:

You can see the cutting edges on the face:

She ain't too purty, but it's accurate:

Center punched/drilled hole. Stepped up to a few sizes bigger drill bit for initial hole. I did this because an end mill doesn't cut at the center, and since I am going to "plunge" cut my slots this was mandatory:

Hogging at about 2200 rpm to avoid galling:

At a rest:

You can see my WD40 (as cutting fluid). It works excellent:

A nice "mill" finish:

Polished up and ready for action (now THAT is purty if I do say so myself!):

Thanks for watching, I hope you're enjoying yourself as much as I am!

EDIT: The jewler's rouge ended up being a bust. It was all dried and crusty. I am going to find some fresh rouge to play around with here this weekend. I need some more fresh buffing tips for the Dremel also.
