Butcher's Hook - Day 05 - Frame fabrication continues some more
contraption for a support weld under the trolley mount on one of the upright beams (didnt pic the finish weld for some reason, no worries more to come

)

needed to do the inside corner welds on the base, new contraption

blasted 5/64 stick @ 100 amps, thats with slag still on

chipped and brushed. anyone need some dimes?

next

next

the other upright trolley support weld

ground that weld (sorry blurry pic, you get the idea)

needed to make sure the two upright beams were the same length, clamped

ground the bottoms

flipped around to grind the tops, before...

after

sick ass 3-axis clamp makes an appearance

I wasnt quite ready to asemble the frame for welding, I needed to do some spot weld repairs along the top of one of the uprights, the big clamp came in very handy. Allowed me to free-stand the part and weld horizontally across the top edge

took three pics all were blurry, sorry, but you get the idea - spot filled (1/16 @ 100 amps)

nexy I needed to get some holes drilled in the base, clearing the way for frame assembly tomr

tap fluid, clamps and a drill press make quick work of this

thats the back top of the base, holes come thru from the bottom for hidden wiring

bottom back

bottom front

next was the cross-member. tapped it into position with a hammer

set it up for welding

trusty setup again - 5/64 @ 100 amps

workshop

: as I left for the evening

I know I said Id have the frame erected by end of today but a bunch of grinding offset my timing by like 2 hours so everything is on deck for first thing tomr
thanks for watching
