Well, I began execution of plan B on the off side panel. My plan is to set in black mesh behind this hole I cut, with a frame of orange flourescent acrylic. I'll light the acrylic with white LED's ala the fans, but keep it switched so it can remain subtle when I'm not feeling the bling. The acrylic needed is on order from Delvies. Hopefully they ship it to the correct address this time.
It's a beautiful day here, so I lugged the rig outside to snap some pics.
