Jessie's Gumdrop - 1 Year Fix & Maintenance
Anyone remember this project?

Anyway, the x called me up and said the machine was acting funny upon boot, getting a weird dos/bios screen. Picked up the machine one day after work and had some time to work on it today while watching Jessie

still a "beaut" if I do say so myself
booted it and got a screen in the bios saying the last boot couldnt detect the cpu settings. I originally suspected the bios battery being dead (original battery on a p3-800) but after setting the correct settings, and cold booting a few times the settings are maintained, so I dont think its the battery, and all seems well at the moment. I guess we'll keep an eye on it

aside from the booting issue, the right side vent trim fell off (it was loose from the day it was built

)

while I had it running I defragged the drive. I was gonna do windows updates but the machine has no wired nic connection, and my wireless is disabled atm, so I skipped it

time to fix the trim, with some glue this time. layed a cloth on my kitchen floor since I had to go window side down

got the stuff laid out

threw a piece of low tack tape on the vent so I didnt blob any glue on it

blobbed some glue on a piece of cardstock

gave a qtip a haircut, as my glue appliying tool

ran some glue across the top edge, and a little on the bottom edge where the trim seams are

re-ran the trim and pressed it in good. came back every 15 mins to re-press it. over the next 2 hours it dried nice and firm. hopefully it holds from here on out

well thats a blast from the past update
thanks for watching
