Butcher's Hook - Day 09 - frame grinding & star tests
set up the frame by the door, for what would be a grinding marathon

1.5 hours later I was ready to get into some nooks and crannies with the dremel aluminum oxide stones (orange)

swapped out the cone shaped one for the wide cylinder

lots of work later...

decided to knock out the feet taps, 8-32 for the mnpctech aluminum knurled feet (which will be chromed also)

tap action

test fitted some 8-32 screws

fruits of thy labor

time to do some start tests. laid out one of the 6' rods to cut some test pieces

after cutting I realized the chop saw is too brutal for this rod, I will use the dremel for the real cuts. I cut a test piece with the dremel just to see and it only took 45 secs or so to cut thru, so that will be cool, plus I will have way better control of the angles

Made a squash-clamp to do some test welds

used 1/16" stick at lowered amps (75-80 or so) This settings allowed the metal to flow but not vaporize the base material, or cause any blow-thru

not perfect but I am glad I tested. Thats a lil 6" triangle, aint she cute

wanted to make more progress today but, as always, things took longer than planned. More work asap.
you all rock, thanks for watching
