Butcher's Hook - Day 11 - mobo plate & mobo pan work

package from Perf-pcs. me hates the popcornz!

so I saved it to ship back to them. (j/k)

ok lets check what we haz...

green led fan fro Greenie-poo (replacement)

ok now for hook project...

2 bulgin ring led switches, 1 red one white

mnpctech alu feet

Lian Li mobo pan (alu) same exact one I used on intelli, speaking of intelli...

went and robbed some parts
mobo, mem, cpu and hdd, basically all cpu stuff from it

mounted mobo in pan

used it to mark off cut lines, but before cutting, needed to finish up something

set up a grinding station by the door. I made friends with the supermarket guy by my job, scored some milk crates such cool universal objects they are. Can be used for countless things, anyway...

ground out the hdd plate welds from the last time. look much better now (yes its still attached )

ok, now to cut mobo pan down to size

slow going, 2 sides done

after all three

lined it up to the steel sheet that will be the mobo plate, marked off the overhang with a black sharpie

clamped the plate and set up a fence for cutting, I didnt need scars on this thing

about 40 mins later....... clank.
need a better steel sheet cutting setup than the dremel, seriously, seriously.

there's the parts

realigned them and clamped them. wanted to score thru the mobo pan with a 7/64" to mark the mobo plate where the stand offs will go

marked, ready for drill press 7/64", then will be tapped 6-32

stopped there, needed food and a video game or two.

tomr I will drill out the plate and tap it, the drill out the mobo pan with 9/64" to let 6-32 mobo standoffs pass thru. I think the double-stack thing shold look cool. I can always get taller standoffs for the plate level If I need more wire hiding area.

anyway, more tomr. Thanks for watching
