Very nice work.
Thanks Illusion. I wish I could lug it outside for every photoshoot. The lighting in my apartment is pretty dismal. I appreciate you putting up with my typically shoddy attempts at photography.

Ask and ye shall recieve, curly.

Here's an overview shot:

Close up. You can see the daisy chained LED wiring pretty well here:

I cut the uv orange plexi first, and glued it to the side panels with black silicon adhesive. I then cut out the mesh and painted it black. It's fixed to the plexi with clear 3M double sided tape.

Once that was done, I carefully drilled out 5mm holes in the mesh and part way through the plexi. The LED's were mounted in those with a drop of super glue:

The LED's were a bit too tall, so first, all 40 of them got a hair cut with a dremel. Here's some of the leavings:

Random shot to wrap it up:

The acrylic is like the tubes, the uv tends to go a little nuts with flash photography. It's not nearly that bright without the lighting. The effect is actually pretty subtle.

Oh, and before I forget, I got the LED's from Empat Manufacturing on Ebay. They were about twice the price of the Chinese shops, but they're located in Michigan, so shipping was super quick. Top quality product too. Definitely a nice resource for that sort of thing over on this side of the pond. They came pre-wired with resistors and are supposed to be rated for 12V hookup. I'm running them at 5V though, to be safe. They work fine there too.

Ultimately, I want to switch them, but for now, I just rigged them up to a molex with fan headers:

That's all for now folks. I'll try to get some night shots of it all lit up if can get my camera to cooperate with me.
