update
Butcher's Hook - Day 16 - hook mount action
got the 8' of thicker round bar for the star the other day, thats a comparison pic
me's liking the new stuff

set up to grind out the plugs I welded the last time

did both sides, thats the front, seems win so far

now to make the hook mount, marked off some stuff based on the hook dimensions

dilled a pilot for the hook pin

there she am

set up to cut out top and bottom, then paused. That pilot will need to be drilled out to a large size later, but once I cut out the top and bottom there will be no support for the drilling....

made an executive decision. blast it out to 1/2"

ok, now we're ready

began cutting

one side down, did the other, and

after some filing

this song came on so I pic'd it because my friend at work loves this song, thought he'd get a kick out of seeing the pic

hook test. the pin is way narrower than the real one will be so the hook is sitting low. just wanted an idea of how it will look

chop chop!

lined it up to the rail to see how it looks. Ill let you guys decide if I should weld it on permanently on sunday...

let me know if you like the mount or if I should scrap it
more sunday (most likely), but definitely more monday
thanks for watching
