Butcher's Hook - Day 18 - we are stardust, we are golden
set up a fence of sorts, against the chop saw. basically a 9" stop so I could cut rods, and feed thru the next piece, and cut again. This was measure twice - cut nine times

the nine (0-8) (the two small pieces were all the leeway I had as far as scrap)

since I cross-cut them at 0 degrees, I needed to grind 30d back cuts in them. clamped...

not too shabby methinks

after I did three bars I tested

so far so good

in the squash-clamp, ready for tip-tacks (dont you love these terms I make up?)

first tip-tack

second

as expected, the steel moved and the joints warped during tacks. no worries, I pried them into position, layed them flat on the ground, and used a block of wood to hold them flat, then tip-tacked the last point...

tested against template, its damn near win

perspective shots

6" test triangle in 3/16", vs 9" real triangle in 5/16"

since I have Jess this weekend again I wont be able to mod again until sunday, or possibly until next weekend, depends on what time I am relieved on sunday
either way, I think I am heading up the right path now
thanks for watching
