Butcher's Hook - Day 20 - star madness + all over

stocked up the shop on some stuff: 14" chop saw blade, and 2 4.5" grinder disks. wasnt too keen on the Hilti brand (I prefer DeWalt blades) but the girl who was doing the rep at Home Depot was cute, and the blades were cheap, so I tried them

grabbed this fancy angle thing

looked like it does sick stuff, so it cant be bad, I guess

2 sheets of 24x48 mdf

some rusto universal satin black (for tech bench), new gloves, a 1" wood hole bit, orange dremel stones to grind welds, a new pack of 20 dremel ezlock metal disks (I was running low) and a cool angle measure thing

used the new grinding disks and ground the angles in the last three star rods

made a quick weld workstation

(think GodSmack - I Stand Alone...)

I weld alone
feeling your stinger down inside of me
I'm not grinding for it
I weld alone
every bead that I try to leave is hazing
I weld alone
inside
I weld alone

woo, I made an x-mas tree
thats the tacked triangles, waiting for full welds

went up to the hw store to see if they had washers with 3/4 ID. Grabbed a few incase I needed to blast out a hole, more ont hat later

on the way back stopped at xmil work, she had my package from newegg

woot woot
OCZ psu, free ocz 4gb thumb drive, and 2 more gigs of ram for the sig rig

back to the washers, one of em seems win, but it sits off center so Ill decide if I want to use this when the time comes (at 13000 rpm)

more welding...

all trinagles full welded

couldnt resist laying them on each other and doing an eyeball-rotate, just to see what we are dealing with

jumped around and started breaking stuff

ok, just jumped around

mdf panel

clamped with homemade fence, needed to cut a 12x12" square for the star jig

left the 140T plastics blade on the circular saw

remembered to put a brace under the panel, used a tripod, like during Greenie-poo build

140T on MDF leave a silky edge

turned piece for the other cut...

12x12"

put the fancy shmancy angle measuring tool on there to mark out -40 and +40 angles from center top

make any angle in seconds, no math required?
IM THERE!

wow, I did it! no math was required, only catching my mistake of 50d on the left side corrected it to 40d

more friday

thanks for watching
