Memory and Storage / SSD Product Line

Solid state drives have been part of the enthusiast must-have list for years, but 2012 seems like the year everyone decided you’d be nuts to build a rig without one at any price point. The winners of our SSD product line are all extremely fast 6Gb/s SATA drives and are all under a dollar a gigabyte now. For price/performance ratio they’re unbeatable. Samsung’s 830 series won with 40 percent of the vote; the second place Crucial M4 had 23 percent.

Samsung 830 Series

"This is my first SSD, and I was simply stunned by how fast it is. It is also a great price, and with 128GB, if you use it as a boot drive, and programs drive, you should never run out of space."

Crucial M4

"It was a hard toss-up between the Samsung 830 and the Crucial M4 but I had to give this one to Crucial. They have an amazing track record when it comes to quality products and that really shows with all the love the M4 has gotten since its release."

OCZ Vertex 4

"Hands down... OCZ's Vertex 4 has more IOPS than any of the rest."

Woot woot! Love my 830! It really is amazing, and looks sleek.
It confuses me how it says MEMORY & Storage and yet the only thing here has to do with storage, it would be interesting to see what memory people thought was the best this year. Though I have a feeling it would be a competition between Samsung's 30nm "Wonder Ram" and the blazing fast G.Skill Trident X series; cheap and fast; 2400mhz-2800mhz.
