The holiday season is a special time full of friends, family, and more buying guides and lists than you can shake a stick at - and we're adding another one of our own to the party. Our Forum Editors have shared some of the deals they are most excited about this week, and we'll continue to keep the list updated as Black Friday / Cyber Monday grow ever more near and more information about various sales becomes public.

Sean Webster

Our resident Storage guru has a hard time getting excited about the hardware sales these days. The week-long deals are "meh", he says - but despite his naysaying, he did manage to find a few deals which he thought were worth paying attention to.

Crucial's MX100 256GB SSDs certainly deserve their popular acclaim as a reasonably priced, well-performing drive - and though they are currently advertised at most retailers at around $110, they've fallen to the $89 mark already this season, and will be worth keeping a close eye on as prices might dip that low again. At $110, the MX100 is already good deal. At $89, the MX100 becomes a fantastic bargain.

Newegg is (quietly) listing a well-below-MSRP deal on a 5TB Backup Plus USB3.0 external HDD - the price? $139. Thats right, 5TB in an external enclosure for $139. But don't say we told you so... This is a below-MSRP price, and you'll need to specifically request a quote from Newegg to get the proper info showing up in your cart. Note that this is a low-RPM HDD, though, so while great for data storage, this isn't a drive you would want to use for anything where high read or write performance was an important piece of criteria.

dman811

Though he leads our Folding@Home team, dman811 is all about displays this season, and the Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM is in his sights. These panels are regularly available well below their official MSRP of $799, but Newegg is further sweetening the deal with a coupon code (EMCWWHW25) good for another $20 off, bringing the price down to $479 with free shipping. Not bad at all for a nice IPS panel at WQHD resolution, all mounted to one of Dell's very nice swivel-to-portrait stands.

(Why does this product price show so high? Newegg seems to be providing us with an Indian Rupee price on this particular item. We're investigating the cause.)

xlastshotx

With the recent release of GTA V on current generation consoles, the hit from Los Santos is back on many people's minds this season, our Video Games Editor included. You could go out today and buy a Playstation 4 for $399 - or you could take advantage of Sony's officially great PS4 Black Friday Bundle, also priced at $399, and get GTA V and The Last of Us included at no extra cost. This is probably the closest thing to a no-brainer decision we've seen so far, if you're willing to deal with the lines at brick-and-mortar stores or try your luck at Newegg or Amazon (both are offering this fantastic deal).

Kip69

From way over in Taiwan, our Event Reporter is busy sending links around to other staffers begging someone to buy the good deals for him and ship stuff over. What does he think is worth all that hassle? The 240GB model of PNY's Optima line of SSDs can be had for just $75 after rebate at Newegg, and thats quite a lot of capacity for a very reasonable price.

TechCrazy

Doing his best to excercise some self-control, TechCrazy does not actually plan to purchase any of these deals for himself... but he wishes he could.
:)
There has never been a less expensive time to buy an R9 290X card, and Newegg's current deal offering an MSI R9 290X for $300 after rebate, including a copy of , making for a deal that will be hard to pass up. The link to our Overclock.net Product Page for this card is below; Newegg's deal link is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127773

Also on the AMD GPU front, XFX's Core Edition R9-295X is marked down 30% below MSRP and can be had for $650 at Newegg after MIR. This one also comes with Civilization: Beyond Earth to further sweeten the deal. This is a very fair price for a flagship card.

cam51037

Cam saw the steal on 256GB Crucial MX100s above and decided he'd like more of the same. His vote for the best deal of the weekend is the 512GB Crucial MX100 at Amazon for essentially the same price-per-gigabyte as the smaller model.
