How To Mod Sennheiser HD 555 to HD 595

All credit goes to skikarl he created this video I just thought I would share it in a convenient location for others to find it. While this will not match the HD 595 performance exactly because the original HD 595 still retains more of a flatter frequency response curve. It will improve the sound of your HD 555 in a noticeable matter.

You will need:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- small pair of pliers

I did this mod and it was really easy. I didn't notice a huge difference but just knowing my headphones are now as cool as some that are more expensive is always worth it. If I remember correctly, the drives are exactly the same between the two headphones.
Mods like this = placebo effect. Sorry but ... it takes more than cotton balls or whatnot to convince me that these sound better.
I apparently misspelled a word in my last comment. I meant to say that the *drivers are the same between the two headphones. The only real difference from what I can find is the 595's have been tuned for slightly more range and the foam. You can see a tear-down of the two sets here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/403963/sennheiser-hd555-and-hd595-internal-comparison-shots
