My First Build The Crow W I P Current Status
Alright, so I began my first build in December since my current computer, a lame Dell Dimension 2400, totally blows and I'm sick of it.
I've been wanting to get into this as well as overclocking for ages, and well here we are.
I have a low budget so It'll take me time to get the rest of the parts but so far here is what I got goin'. If you have any suggestions on parts feel free. Though my mind is already set on parts If theres any constructive criticism go ahead i dont mind.
Parts Bought/Installed
Case:Antec 900 Case
Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
Memory: OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 Dual Channel Kit
Parts to Buy
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core -(since the E7200 has been out of stock since before Christmas, my second choice)
PSU: hec X-Power Pro 650 650W Continuous @ 40°C ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply
(The BFG PSU I wanted hasn't come back in stock for quite a while)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
Graphics Card:EVGA 512-P3-N863-TR GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 (to hold me over till I can afford a better card)
CPU Heatsink:ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-Bit (I wish Windows 7 was out, that OS is so sweeet, beta was quite well rounded)
Anyway thats my build for now. I chose the UD3R instead of the UD3P because I just don't plan on going SLI in the near future.
As for the GPU, Im going with the 9800GTX for starters to fit in my budget until I can afford a better card.
I'm hopin' to OC the CPU to at least between 3.6GHz and 4.3 GHz.
I also intend to buy 2 more gbs once this is operational.
If you have any comments, criticisms, or suggestions feel free to let em rip.
