Hey all, new to this gig but I need someone to help explain to me about the world of overclocking.
Here is my position:
I don't concider my computer to be a slouch by any meens, I am able to watch movies and TV shows, surf the internet, run Azeures, and use Word and Excel all at the same time without too much system slowdown. When it comes to editing, encoding, and capturing video I notice a severe decline in performance. I recognise that video editing is very resource intensive, but I should still be able to capture video off my Sony DCR-TRV260 camera through the USB 2.0 port without my video getting choppy.
When using PerformanceTest V6.1 to benchmark, the test comes back fairly good. I am consistently getting a score between 339.2 and 352.5 and my 3D graphics acceleration scores are good. The problem seems to be with the 2D shapes test, the score comes back at 1.55. When I run the Graphics 3D - Complex I get a score of 5.3.
I find it hard to belive that my 3D is doing better than my 2D. Therefore I am looking to overclocking to fix the problem. I need to quick hitting fixes to get a performance boost, then some coaching to get the best optimization.
Any help would be appreciated.
