On Speeders

Today I got my first speeding ticket in 5 years. (Not including those bunk traffic light cameras which I suspect may be timed differently). I opted to pay the fine and be done with it, but I noticed that the older man on the motorcycle in front of me was not ticketed although he was going faster than me. It would seem that since I am young and still look even younger than I actually am, that I make a prime target for troopers since the cloud over my head says: "young and reckless".

$65 fine and perhaps a $25~50 increase in insurance will hurt, but I guess the part that hurts more than that - in this case, at any rate - is that I look like the speeder. I admit that I was over the limit and will take responsibility because it will remind me through my wallet not to do so again, but I have to wonder how many people my age still get profiled?
