That's on my list of things to do. Apple charging $4.95 for a simple software update pissed me off like no other. If it were some optional upgrade I wouldn't have minded so much, but the number of apps that would run on the older version was rapidly approaching zero, pretty much forcing me to either give Steve Jobs another five bucks to keep screwing me, or jailbreak my ipod.
