Test Methodology

Gaming performance will be measured by using FRAPS to record the frame rate and frame time.

Here is the YouTube link for the video showing what part of the game I benchmarked
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeyW3LTm4RI

The game has 2 sections for its "Video" settings: Post Processing and Graphics.

Here are the options under Post Processing

Motion Blur - Off
Blur - Off
Anti-aliasing - On
Bloom - On
Sharpening - High
Ambient Occlusion - SSAO
Depth of Field - On
Chromatic Aberration - Off
Vignetting - On
Light Shafts - On

Here are the options under Graphics. NVIDIA HairWorks is disabled and everything will be set to Ultra except for Shadow Quality and Foliage Visibility Range which will be both set only to High. Of course, V-sync is set to Off.

Resolution - 1920 x 1080
V-sync
Frame Rate - Unlimited
Nvidia HairWorks
Number of Background Characters
Shadow Quality
Terrain Quality
Water Quality
Grass Density
Texture Quality
Foliage Visibility Range
Detail Level

The results below are the average of 3 runs

Conclusion

Nothing changed since v1.06. A Core i7 is really needed for this game. There is noticeable stuttering when running the game with Core i5 and it's shown by the 99th percentile frame time.

Oh man that show we need more core already

Thank you for doing all these review i love them
i run witcher 3 on my gtx970/ 16Gb ram/ FX-8150 setup and i never have stuttering. I'm also using a 34in ultrawide at 1440
FX-8150 is an 8-core CPU ....what is your point. Reviewer/Tester clearly said, 4 cores / 8 threads is > than 4 cores / 4 threads sans-HT.

where in there did it say "Oh if youre on one more than 4 cores, expect trouble"

I know I know dated post....waiting for dem 480s is like kicking smoking addiction. just feel so irritable waiting for the 29th.
