Default Big Typhoon Help Needed!

Hello

I'm looking to go with a BT Heatsink to save space inside my Soprano for my new rig.

I am going to equip it with a SilenX iXTrema Pro fan.

But, the question is - I've heard these things are pretty heavy? Do they need strapping to the case or anything?

Thanks in advance

Probably not the best space-saving heatsink .

The BT is pretty heavy but only a very few people have problems with excessive weight

No they do not need to be strapped to the case...the stock backplate works very well and if you have th backplate secured properly and you have the motherboard properly secured you should have no problems with it whatsoever.

Agreed. And as nome said, they arent much of a spcae saving heatsink... The BT is quite large really, But effective. Its much larger than the stock intle or amd heatsink.

The BT is very heavy yes and exceeds the limit of the CPU brakets weight threshhold. However this does not matter as you are provided with a backplate with this heatsink that goes on the back of your motherboard to help support the heatsink. Unfortuantely to do this you must remove your motherboard..just a reminder. Also for a cooler just as good where you dont have to install a backplate consider the Thermalright SI-120.

Thanks for the fast help!

And as for the space saving issue, I had the Big Water in mind. Saves space when you compare the two :P

Yes in the long run you can have the WC setup or most of it outside the actual case. However comapred with the BT they get very similar temps.

How about the HS you reccomended me? Does that get a similar temp to these.

I'm mostly a gamer so my CPU will be subjected to high loads, will this satisfy the heat? Or should I go with a BT afterall?

Decided to go with the HeatSink you reccomended, Enterprise. Along with a good, 72 CFM fan. Thanks for the help all!
