Hmm its tough to say it may or may not. It will improve quicker heat dissapation to the fins yes so it may work.

Let us know how you get on. Remember when putting the cooler back on you need to clean off the old thermal compound off the heatsink and CPU and reapply some new and then place the heatsink back down.

Haven't been on in awhile, didn't really notice a difference, but i was just asking because i had like 8 extra from the 2 vga coolers i bought, and was trying to think of a use for them. CPA runs at abou 34 C according to everest at idle and jumps to about 50-55c underload, although the asus pc probe program says it gets to about 60, but i think i is wrong. Thanks for the input guys.

It's probably not wrong...I've found several HSFans to be...well not what they are supposed to be...the stock HSFan is the TRUTH...if it were all copper....
Then you only have to replace a fan...these ridiculous ones now...heavy...gotta find longer screws...gotta get a new back plate...etc Find one with a flat BOTTOM!!! Lap it...and follow CRASH's Video Guide!!!
