I have a watercooling setup comprising of a single 120mm fan and radiator and a swiftech APOGEE cpu block yet i'm still getting some very high temps,
38°c idle and 59° load. My opty is running at 2.8Ghz and was surprised to see these temps in the bios and with ITE smart guardian. So what i wanted to know was would the Artic cooler freezer 64 pro be able to handle my overclocked opty and lower these temps as i dont have the cash to upgrade my water cooling setup again. Thanks..

That seems too het yes! Far too hot actually....try doing a remount of the waterblock with minimal TIM.

Have you got it installed inside the PC case ? What voltage are you applying to the CPU core ? 59°C is a little on the high side. cheers

I would say try to put a higher CFM fan or 2 on the rad and resit the block and then wait. I have the AC54freezer pro and I get at 2.2Ghz and only 2 fans on my case - load temp 44C. But thats with an AC to .. my feet are freezing. But thats just me with crap fans.
Its amazing tho.

You could probably get a new radiator for the price of a good heatsink, could you not?

Well i'm not to sure what ambient temp i;m running at it is running inside my case. It is positioned at the bottom in the front and has replaced my 120mm intake fan, I have the rad fan sucking air threw the crappy vents on the front door panel( so maybe this could be a issue). As for voltage i'm putting 1.52v to the cpu. Thanks...

Would 2 fans really help that much and how would they be configured.(push-pull) or whatever.
