is the difference between the BT and BT VX just in the fan and the mounting?
i like the old bt because i can put ramsinks on top of the copper plate, and ill probably replace the fan with my TT thunderblade, or a quieter solution (any comments?)

The VX also comes with a 80 cfm fan instead of a 50 cfm fan.

As far as I can tell the only difference is the fan and the mounting method. They would say something if they changed anything with the HS itself. IMO, they should have shortened the heatpipes so it wasn't so damn tall.

I was interested in the VapoChill Micro too, but I heard that it wasn't good at all from someone that used it on here.
Apparently it was too finicky and didn't do as good of a job as the AC Freezer7, which a modded BT will beat.

It relies on gravity to operate, and when it's lying nearly flat while mounted in your case, it doesn't perform at it's peak. If you have the $$$ to try it, by all means go ahead and tell us what it's like. I just don't have the funds to try stuff out without knowing how it will perform from prior experience of others...

other coolers also use heatpipe design (albeit w/o r134a), and they are also mounted horizontally...
my choices as of now: Aquagate for $30 after MIR BT for $42 Vapochill Micro high end: $35
