Default Remove backing plate of Tuniq Tower

So I sold my crappy p5n32, and I was wondering if there was any way to remove the rear mounting bracket from the mobo...it is stuck on there like glue...should i just get a new cpu cooler and let this guy have my tuniq? i dont want to damage the mobo.

get a hairdryer (you don't look like you have one, but if your significant other does) and shoot the thing w/ heat for a little while. see if it'll come off then.

Correct.

I messed with mine for 15 minutes and trust me, it WILL NOT come off without the hair dryer. I used a hair dryer on hottest for about 30 seconds and it came off.

ok...it worked..now, what can I use to attach the tuniq plate to my new mobo since the sticky stuff is ruined...could I just attach it without the adhesive and use the mounting screws?

just use it w/o the adhesive. you don't need it, its there for mounting purposes. makes things easier.

You could attach it that way or just stick a thin piece of cardboard between the backplate and board. This would allow you to take off the plate without messing with a hairdryer anymore due to the residue left over.

one more thing..how much should you fasten the mounting screws? I mean, I can screw them all the way down, I just dont want to damage the ihs or hurt the cooling
