I've heard a little bit about North and Southbridge coolers and I was wondering if they are worth buying. I've the Zalman on the cpu, the classic crab fan on the RAM, and numerous other case fans. So, is popping a cooler on some other areas of the mobo worth it do you think? Any recommendations would be great.

i'm pretty sure it's only necessary if you use extreme coolingmethods. as long as you have some good airflow over the chipset cooler, i think you'll be fine.

The southbridge is not usually a big producer of heat - it handles the slower speed io such as the floppy and cd, usually a passive heatsink will handle it just fine. The Northbridge handles higher speed io such as graphics and is a good place to spend some extra buck on on some active cooling. I don't own one, but the Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II is very cool.

If you're running the fsb at really high speeds and raise the voltage of the northbridge, then you should consider getting a better cooler for the northbridge, since that is what governs the fsb. The Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II looks even better! Check it out here. Full copper construction with heatpipes a bit overkill for cooling the northbridge? Nope!
__________________Also, if you really worried about the temps of the chipset, you should consider replacing the original thermal compound with some AS5. It'll provide better heat transfer, which means more efficient cooling. Edit: Just saw your config. You already have pretty good cooling on your mobo already with the p5w. Do the heatpipes not provide enough cooling for you?

Do you plan to remove the heatpipe on the northbridge of your mobo for a new heatsink? Your Zalman should be moving plenty of air through the heatsink to cool the northbridge.

active nb cooling is great it can relay help u geta better oc increaseing the volts on your nb can greatly increse stablility and also it makes heat on the nb obviousey so active cooling there is relay nice and so u might as well geta big heatsink for the sb no need for active as far as im conserned

Check to see how the oem heatsink is mounted to the mobo. Are there any mounts holes on the board? If not, the heatsink maybe mounted to the chipset with thermal adhesive. That stuff is not easy to remove.
