I'm new to overclocking and the whole c2d scene as well, everyone raving about their 40c load temps, but I actually looked it up and intel designed the c2d's to get to a maximum of 61c before they are in danger. But from what I've heard people talking about, if you go into your bios make sure the fan is set to full on or disable the auto control. Hope this helps.
