Default Post-purchase Decision on Tuniq Tower 120 (In Stock and On Sale Now!)

The sale started this thursday from NCIX and I know it's a bit late to inform people about this but it's a great deal nonetheless. $49CDN ($40USD approx)

Check my sig and you'd see that I'm using CNPS9700NT at the moment and it's doing a fairly good job but I want to take the cooling performance up another level. I should be able to sell the CNPS9700NT for the same amount of money that I would pay for a TT120 after taxes and some spare change

I've being doing research on various heatsinks and my original priority was the Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme but due to the lack of firm support for its mounting base and one would have come up with all sorts of creative ways to mod it, I decided to pass. This is not a rumour but it's a fact reported by numerous people accross all reputable forums.

First important and a direct related to the topic question for the Tuniq Tower 120, how firm is the mounting base for the TT120? Is it better than the infamous TRU120X? (Only current/past TT120 owners may be able to answer this)

Secondly, how flat is the base? Is it more convex or concave? My CPU IHS is lapped but becouse my original IHS was slightly convex so I did not gain significant temp drop. Please tell me your Idle/load temp vs the ambient temp vs CPU clock speed and voltage.

Lastly, how loud is the original 9-blade design fan running at max speed of approx 2000rpm. I want to stick with the recommanded stock 9 blade fan for greater CFM at the same RPM as suggested from the manufacture. If the noise is bearable at near high rpm and yet moves lots of air, I'll stick with it. I know there are better fans out there like Scythe, Yat loon, Thunderblade, Panaflow, Delta..etc..etc..I know all of them but I'm looking for the best noise to CFM ratio. Priority again is that I like the 9 blade fan and if it does its job good enough, replacing it would be the last thing I'll look for.

Thanks in advance for your inputs

I don't have the TRU120X and have never used it, so I can't compare the mounting bases between them. I've had no problems with my TT mounting wise, but then again I have socket 939. I can't comment on how flat the base is...because I haven't looked. But I'm quite please with the stock fan, it's dead silent on the low setting and when turned up to full blast it is still reasonably quiet. It sounds like a low hum and it really doesn't bother me at all, I hardly even notice it.
