Default Thermaltake Silent 77D vs Arctic Pro 7

I picked up a Thermaltake Silent 775D off the shelf, but in hindsight, I think I should have done research and probably opted for something like an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro.

I cannot find reviews on it, but would it be worth getting a better cooler (like the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro?

Thanks for any help.

What kind of temps are you getting before and after with it?

I just built the system about a week ago and didn't try the stock Intel heatsink, so I don't know.

I think I'm pushing my system (with the temps being a bit high) and it's currently running:

TEMPS CORE #1/#2 (using Everest):
- Idle: 33/36c (OS running)
- Load: 67/69c (Orthos Small FFTs @ 1 pass - 16 minutes)
- Load: 59/63c (Orthos Blend @ 1 pass - 16 minutes)

I'm wondering if that Thermaltake is about as good as the stock cooler or better yet, if the Arctic Cooler (or something in it's price range) would be better.

Thanks for the quick response - Looking forward to hearing back.

Paul

You can try this one Scythe Mine which performs better then the Arctic Freezer.

And those load temps are getting up there.

Hey guys,

Thank you for your help.

Today I replaced that Thermaltake Silent 775D heatsink with an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 and what a big difference it made! My CPU dropped somewhere between 10-20 degrees!
It was pretty easy to install, but I put it in backwards at first and had to redo it. It was a tight fit in my Antec 900 case, but it wasn't too bad.

Now I'm wondering if I should push it some more Seriously, if you guys think I can/should let me know or if I should do anything different.

Thank you again for everyone who gave me great advice.

Here are my stats (two different tests) below:
