Default Best Socket A Cooler?

I think I've gone crazy...

Because I've decided that I do not want a Conroe, Brisbane etc. And instead, I want an old Barton, Thoroughbred, and NF7. I feel that those CPU's will be wasted on me since I don't play that many PC games any more. (Although I may still want to)

That being said, I want to build an old s462 PC from the spare parts I have already. I have two Thoroughbreds that I want to OC (and maybe set a few records ) and then I'll buy a few Barton's to OC.

For video, I will go crazy and buy a X1950XT AGP VIVO

This is because I feel this PC will set more records on HWbot than a middle-range C2D PC.

---

That being said, I want a really good socket A cooler. I would prefer it to be an air cooler and under $100 or so.

I've got a few in mind:

Swiftech MCX-462 (Can't seem to find one anywhere, so if anyone has one, please PM me!)
Titan Venessa S-Type (Aluminium only?)
Titan 120mm S (Aluminium only?)
Thermaltake Volcano 12+ (eh)
Cooler Master Aero 7+ (eh, looks cool)
Antazone AS-C1000 95mm (cool)
Evercool ICEMAN (cool name)
Gigabyte G-Power Pro (Cooler than 3D Rocket)
Thermaltake Sonic Tower (Heatpipes!)
Thermaltake Tower 112 (Fits 120mm fans?)
Vantec Aeroflow II (cool and noisy?)

The ones in bold are the ones I'm seriously considering...

So please inform me which one to get

And please don't tell me it's a bad idea, because I'm going to do it no matter what.

Nice idea I would go with one of the TTunits they have good quality and for your need would be great and good luck with the overclocks hope to see them on HWBOT.

The SI-97 is basically the s462 version of the XP-90, which was much more popular but just as good. It's a very nice cooler.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

Is it compatible? Would I need to mod it to get it to fit? Thanks!

I think this is a cool idea, my Dad runs my old Barton 2500 an Asus mothboard, 1gb RAM and a 6600GT and his little system hauls ass at 2.3Ghz

Does everything he needs and more.

They both fit right out of the box. BigTyphoon is harder to mount, though. It uses a backplate for extra support due to it's size.
