Default Giving a 16V rated fan 16V

i have an old (10-year old) system papst 120X45mm fan, its 120CFM at 12V, and on the motor i see RATINGS FOR 8V OPERATION AS WELL AS 16V OPERATION! Could it be >150CFM?? then i would put it on my BT or future wc rad.

with a standard ATX computer PSU (12V, -12V, 5.5V, -5.5V, 3.3V) i cannot find a way to get 16V voltage differential....maybe -12V and 3.3V for 15.3V? would that work? and if so, which wire on a standard ATX PSU is the 3.3V??

another question. its pretty heavy. not brick heavy, but significantly heavier than normal fans. Will the torque produced by having it screwed on to the top of Big Typhoon in a Full Tower orientation make temps worse/unseat the heatsink assembly? Or should i just make damn sure that its tight

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

it'll probably be able to handle 17v. use the -12 and +5.

The fan could certainly handle any voltage you give it between 8v and 16v, and probably 17v as ChielScape said.
