I just got this cooler today from newegg, and I must say that it is awesome. I have always been thoroughly impressed by Zalman. The contact surface had a mirror finish, so there is definitely no need for lapping.

Most of the reviews I have read say the 9700 is very good. I will be selling one in about a week as well, so be on the lookout!

Well the arctic hasn't totally cured yet, and I'll probably end up reseating since I put it on in such a hurry.
__________________I upgraded from an Arctic 64 Freezer that was lapped and modded with a silverstone FM92. LOL I broke the FM92 and had to mod it with an FM82. My temps at idle dropped a few degrees...I'm at work so let me check my remote desktop and I'll get back with you. The AC is off now, so ambients are high. BTW you guys with the Zalman: how much AS5 did you use? It seems that I should have used more...it doesn't seem like an airtight lock when I twisted it before locking it down.

Ok here are my temps with some hot ambients. Like I said, the AS5 probably needs to be applied again. I'm runninb 2.700 with 300 MHz HT and 1.50V Vcore. I bet I can go higher on the OC, but I probably won't test until this weekend when I have more time. Hardware testing on the weekend, gaming during the week. That's what I say!
