Default Big Typhoon

Holy mother, I was standing in fry's yesterday looking at cpu coolers for my new system. And I picked up the big typhoon. Never in my life have I seen anything that enormous. It was practically weighing me down. There's no way that thing's going to fit in a micro atx case. The thing was gargantuan, I think even the dinosaurs would want something smaller. Would that fit in an atx-mid case?

Depends on the case to be honest. It sticks out a lot, so take measurements of inside the case that you want to use and compare it. If the worst happens it should work if you just keep your side panel off, however it may be a bit too tall and even hit your PSU (Assuming your case is a smaller mid ATX) .

if you are going to get a big HSF like the big typhoon, you may be better off getting the Tuniq tower, ot the enxotech ultraX..they both preform a bit better than the BT

But they're far from an overclockers dream... overclockable

*EDIT*

LOL I actually meant moddable, but I think it should stay as overclockable.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

They're more expensive, and i'm buying all my stuff at frys where I don't think they have it. I don't have a credit card to order online. That's why I still have money.

thanks mth91, i've finally have time to register on the forums after i built my setup, the typhoon will give you about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches clearance front hitting the side if you have a 8 inch width case. and i'm using it on a 965p-ds3 motherboard and it does not extend past the motherboard so it fits fine next to power supply and stuff. the only thing is that it is really close to the backside of the case so its hard to put an exhaust fan there. other than that the typhoon works pretty well. with the tt smart fan II it does alot better job cooling, but it's also louder at the higest setting.

How do you think that'll fit on the evga 680i mobo above? http://evga.com/products/moreinfo.as...7-A1&family=20

i don't know i can't tell from the picture above, i know the typhoon is 122mm WxH, so basically if you have 2.75inches to clear on all sides of the processor socket it should be fine.
