is it possible that my cpu is running 10ishC hotter now than in february simply because of the heat and humidity? it is hard for me to tell because i have had to adjust the HS many times because of the cheesy plastic clips falling out of the mobo at the slightest jerk, therefore i cannot pinpoint the cause of the heat increase. In february, with the chip OCd to 2.4ghz, i was idling about 39 and full load RARELY going above 50. currently i am idling at 50 with stock speeds. I havent even dared putting the chip at full load with it idling so high, and even with just a few minor programs running, such as aim, steam, firefox, and WoW (about a 30% load or something), temps creep up to around 60.

If the room temp has risen, then your temps will rise as well.

Well, if it is hotter now that it was then, and you have kept your system the same, then the weather is to blame! :P
Welcome to the forums matey!

oh i should have mentioned air temperature in this room in feb. was about 60Fish but the comp is close to the door and days were usually below 40F. Currently the air temp in this room is about 80ish, and would probably be hotter for the comp, cuz we leave the door open and daytime highs are around 85-95F.

You never told us what CPU you are running, but stay away from 65c, that is pretty hot.

Fill in your computer specs in the User CP, it'll help in the long run so no one else will ask what you;re running.

Poor contact may be part of your temp problem, but yes, ambient room temps will directly affect your idle and load temps. Take the side panel off your box and set up a cheapo desk fan next to your rig. The additional airflow may help a little.
