Default Fan clips for Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme

I was told that the xp-120 clips are the same.

But I don't know, for the life of me I can't get it to fit. Heck I can't even get the clips to insert like in the directions and in all the pictures I have seen. I'm beginning to think that the clips are not the right ones. The pictures do look slightly off. If anybody can get a close up shot of their stock Ultra 120 Extreme clip for me, I would be most grateful. There doesn't seem to be any place online to buy more TR Ultra clips that state that they are TR Ultra clips. Thanks for any help.

I could but if possible I would rather use the clips. They look better than zip ties in my opinion.

What fan are you attempting to mount with it? It might be one of those fans that has a solid cylinder where you would screw screws in.

No, it's not one of those fans with the closed corner. It is open so I am able to somewhat clip it but it just doesn't fit right.

They seem to be the same ...
I did however mod the clips slightly for better fit to the fan...
The "V" that inserts into the fan...
On the side of the V that leads to the HS, about 3/16'' from the bottom of the V, bend it about 15 degrees.
It works great

I'll upload some pictures of both the XP-120 clips and the Ultra 120 clips when I get home (in about five hours).

I'm still at work, obviously, as I type this, but I'll be happy to get you those pictures for a comparison.

I think they're different, though.

The pictures will tell the tale.

Standby.
