Well, I know the MX-1 is supposed to be pretty good (what comes on AC HS). It keeps mine cool even with the terrible job I did installing it.

read it and it will help.

Now that your thinking, why don't you get just a piece of glass an inch or two wide, and lap over that?

Some other people have gotten zero performance increases through lapping this HSF
I'am chill. You need to still read my first post as you still think I don't know how to lap. Im only asking how to get the mounting hardware off the block. Thats all, don't need you to treat me like an idiot. I already lapped my processor WITH GLASS. I dont need links on how to do it.

No need to remove the mounting hardware, lap around it, thus th 1-2 inch strip of glass. You only turn the item you are lapping every 90 degrees, just have to keep the glass supported above a table using a block of wood or something that is narrower than the retention mechanism.

When some one attempts to teach you something it is best to listen with an open mind even if you already know what they are teaching you. You will find that you can learn alot with an open mind and intelligant questions.
