Default AC Pro 7 Lapping

Anyone lapped one of these. I went to do mine tonight and realized that the tabs that hold the heatsink to the mobo are in the way of sanding the block. How do I go about lapping this thing guys?

I don't knw how much of an increase your going to get given the properties of the AC Pro 7, but you can try.

Remove any TIM you have on the heatsink, and place the blade of a razor un the bottom of the heatsink, hold this up to the light, if you see light between the razor and the heatsink, then the base is uneven and lapping could help.

order a kit from www.easypckits.com and follow the directions.

I already did for my processor, did you even read the first post? I said I can't get to the actual block on the ac pro because of the mounting hardware.

The AC Pro 64 has removeable hardware so it is pretty easy. Not sure if you can do a 7.

Yes I did, sit back, chill and think before you post.

http://www.overclockers.com/tips1015/

read it and it will help.

Now that your thinking, why don't you get just a piece of glass an inch or two wide, and lap over that?

Some other people have gotten zero performance increases through lapping this HSF

for AC hs/f's i have noticed that they almost perform better unlapped (unless the CPU is lapped as well) and with their stock TIM. dead serious
