I recently bought an Athlon 64 5200+ X2 (Windsor, socket AM2), and the fan provided is hopelessly loud (far more than the old one, by far). Any good replacements available that don't take up too much space? (Sort of low on space.. :<)

Actually, I think it may be due to positioning of the computer... not much space near the air vents...
__________________Anyway... it's quiter now.. But this new fan, is it quiet? (Something I forgot to add to my original post) If anyone knows if it is quieter than the fan provided with the Athlon 64 5200+ X2. When in normal use, it's fine. Not loud. But I may consider the quieter fan, as I'm quite sure the CPU would heat up if I were playing a game, and from I can tell, the fan'll speed up if the CPU gets hotter (I'm guessing around 50 celcius).

Please give some actual info to why... it's a overrated heatsink that does not perform consistent. It may look good, but performance is crap

You have any proof of that, Gon? Maybe the 9500 sucks..but the 9700 owns. Its only 10mm bigger, so it can't be that big of a difference.

Zalman 9500 (My Tuniq Tower 120 dropped 5-10 cel from the 9500's temps). Its not a bad cooler, but i'd get a Zalman 9700 or a tuniq 120 if I were buying new

check out a thermaltake big typhoon vx. its cheaper (~$45) than all those other big fans and is quiet. it got my x2 4400 down to 32-33c and 45c at load. works well IMO.
