Default Recommendation - Intel Cooler

I am looking for a cooler that has heat pipes and works well for overclocking. And fairly cheap.

Honestly, I would go with the Tuniq Tower, and here's why:

- Yes, I own the Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme, and yes it does cool better than the Tuniq (marginally I believe).
- The Tuniq (stock) costs about half what the Thermalright costs (when you include a fan, because the Thermalright doesn't have one).
- The Tuniq has a much better factory base than the Thermalright, and this means less work for the consumer to get what they wanted from the heatsink: lower temps.
- The amount you can spend on a pre-lapped Thermalright ($100) or a lapping kit and doing the lapping yourself ($90 for heatsink/fan/lapping tools) doesn't really justify the cooling benefits over the much cheaper Tuniq.

If you don't really have a budget, splurge away and get the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a Silverstone FM121 or a high CFM Panaflo fan. If you're concerned about breaking the bank, get the Tuniq and keep the stock fan, or upgrade to the Silverstone FM121 fan.

If you need really cheap, the Coolermaster GeminII is only $30. If you can afford it, get a TT120. If you want to throw your budget out the window, the Thermalright IFX-14 can be had for about $75.

I would recommend a Tuniq Tower since you can get them for $45 now a days. While the thermalright 120 will outperform it it is not worth the extra money in my opinion.

GeminII performs a few C worse than the Tuniq (2-3), but provides awesome cooling to NorthBridge, MOSFET and RAM.

I got an SI-128 for sale. (Check sig)

For new, a Tuniq, Ultra 120 Extreme, or a TTBT would fit the bill.

Ultra 120 Extreme, Tuniq Tower, or Big Typhoon VX. These are all great choices and they perform marginally within each other.
