I moved my desk and turned my computer so I can looks through my side panel... Anyway, I noticed my cpu fan goes on off at least twice a minutes. I'm glad my new cpu is arriving today, but before i put it on im wondering if its just the stock cpu that bad or some thing to do with my mobo? I don't wannna install a new cpu fan if its a mobo problem.
Oh and i just thought of it could it be my psu?

Your CPU fan is connected to the motherboard? Just increase the starting fan speed temperature. You just have you start temperature too low.

I would guess that if your fans are controlled by your mobo that your temp setting is what is causing the problem. If you have your fan "on" at 25C or more and your system is running between 24C and 25C then that would be cause for what you are seeing. (those temps are just an example) If you are using your bios to contol your fan speeds then I say you take a look there and see what it changes.

your CPU is probably cooled dynamically (like amd cool & quiet)......and is cold enough to work without cooling, run prime or orthos to see if it starts spinning then, and watch your temps just to be sure

Yeah I would agree with what has been said.
My PC is setup so that the CPU fan does not start until 35*c therefore when the PC is idle my cpu is cooled passively ![]()

So in my bios it will let me set it so my fan only spins at a certain temperature?
If so ill set it low so it will always spin.

You got it, I just set my "on" temp as low as possible which is 25C for me, that way no matter how cool it is the fan is always running.

BTW, you can override the BIOS fan control with applications like SpeedFan.
