Yeah...I kinda..got out side with the air compressor to dust off my fans, and my hand didn't have the blades secure. Thus, the fan spun out of control, my finger getting caught into it and it snapped a blade off and cut my finger
So, I gotta mod one of these onto the fan bracket for the heatsink..but I'm not sure how. I've been meaning to do this, and I plan on replacing the fan this week, I'll buy a new one with a third monitoring wire...but this'll get my rig up and going with respectable temperatures. Any help from Freezer 7 owners would be awesome ![]()

Best, least painful method?
Remove the whole plastic fan mounting assembly and do away with it for good. Then pick your fan and just zip tie that sucker on there. It's elegant. Scores points with the chicks. And can even be used with two fans as per the shot of my own system below: ... ![]() ... It's not a freezer 7, but once you get rid of that honker plastic fan mount on your cooler ... it will be a similar solution.

You're in luck...I have an AF 7 Pro that has a broken clip that attaches to the mobo so the fan is just sitting doing nothing...PM me your address and it's yours...

Heh, I might not even need anything now, I got that 51cfm delta zip tied to the plastic fan shroud (It looks pretty nice, if I don't say so myself
![]() My temps aren't any different, but I can use the same assembly for a different fan. I just need to nab me some zip ties though... However, has anyone ever lapped a Freezer 7, and if so, how do you get around the mounting mechanism?

I`ve lapped my freezer 7 and all you need to do is gently disengage the mount from the base,it`s only held on by a ball and joint type arrangement and then tape the mount to the fins to pull it up out of the way so you can hold the base while lapping.I also removed the mounting pins to give more room and stop them snagging the sandpaper.

How did you remove the mounting pins?
