Cores or center sensor thinger. My cores hit 60, but center thing hits low 50s, and i think thermal spec is on the center thinger?

50C is not too hot. that is a nice overclock and acceptable temps. but are those idle temps or load? run orthos or prime95 or even tat at 100% load both cores and see what temperatures you get.

if its ~50-55C then you are good

anything over 60C for a long time is BAD

you should keep thing below 60, or 55 to be on the safe side. and generally the cores and 'center thingy' are only a couple degrees appart for the c2d's. just stay below 55 and you cpu will have a very long happy life

that was 50C under full load of orthos, while tat, speedfan, core temp and cpu-z were all running. occaisionally as high as 52 on the overall cpu, while the individual cores where fluctuating in the high 40's. so at 3.3 ghz at that temp, i should be fine then?

Having 50c on full load is nothing to worry about. Remember that your temps are also affected by Ambient temperature.

Here's a nice temperature guide you can check out.
